      Job Description:

      The Planning Director (Manager) at OMG China is positioned to be the last point of contact for day to day management of client business. This candidate will encourage the supervisors, planners, and ad operations staff in building first class traditional media campaigns to achieve client objectives. The candidate must be a seasoned media professional who can combine the best of traditional media to create innovative relationships between client and consumer.

      Responsibilities:

      • Direct report to Business Director and lead a team
      • Set media objective, analyze market/consumer dynamics, and formulate media strategy
      • Construct media plan with recommendation on media channels, budget allocation and scheduling strategy
      • Explore new media forms and innovative media ideas
      • Brief buying team to ensure an effective implementation of the approved media plan
      • Co-ordinate with clients and creative agencies in day-to-day account handling and media servicing
      • Provide clients with constant updated on competitive activity, media market development and relevant research insight
      • Requirement:
      • Excellent general education with 6-8 years relevant experience; previous agency experience is preferred, Brand Manager in Worldwide Top 500 corporate or Project Manager in big research house is a advantage
      • Good understanding of the production process of advertising and all other forms of communication mediums
      • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  Able to convince and influence other effectively
      • Able to prioritize, communicate these priorities and motivate a team accordingly
      • High energy level, excellent listening skills and able to manage multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously
      • Proficiency in Mandarin, English both in conversation & writing
      • Computer knowledge, especially PPT in English is a must

       Skills, Knowledge and Experience

      Skills / Qualifications:

      l  Five or more years experience in online media planning within an advertising agency, direct marketing, cable/broadcasting or similar media environment

      l  Well-versed in all forms of digital media including web, search, email, mobile, etc.

      l  Experience in growing, managing and inspiring internal planning teams; strong leadership and administrative skills across the 3 China offices

      l  Must be able to interpret and draw relevant insight from research resources such as iResearch iUserTracker, Nielsen adRelevance and CMMS, and other media planning and buying tools as well as from non-syndicated sources

      l  Senior level client negotiation and management skills with the ability to write clearly and to make lively, imaginative but substantive presentations

      l  Consult, collaborate, and support brand account teams to develop integrated media communication strategies and plans.

      l  Manage a digital media training program to up-level current traditional planners to integrated planner expertise.

      l  Excellent presentation, writing and communication skills in English and Mandarin

      l  Working knowledge of online performance tracking and brand measurement tools as well as paid keyword search marketing

       

      Responsibilities Include:

      l  Building and leading supervisors and planners in developing strategically grounded media plans and buys providing key business insights and growth potential ideas for current clients, new business and internal agency thinking

      l  Insuring that planning supervisors, planners, and executives are fully trained on all aspects of online media planning including planning processes, use of research tools, as well as the development of writing and presentation skills

      l  Manage all media buying supervisors, planners, and executives in three China offices

      l  Partnering with brand planning teams, creative agency and other partners, research, strategic planning, and business development to ensure client objectives are met leveraging the newest technologies and marketing strategies

      l  Providing proactive contribution to clients' business growth by identifying new media opportunities

      Role Requirement :

      The ideal candidates will have at least 8 years + solid experience in the China media industry or media related industry such as tracking / audience measurement with ideally a research or analytics background and exposure to the principles and practices of audience insights, measurement & segmentation, media analytics, communication planning and be able to combine these with an understanding of brand strategy to drive recommendations that make a difference to our clients brands and business. Experience in FMCG and working with data focused clients a must.

      They will be joining a young team, therefore this person needs to be coach, motivator and be prepared to roll up their sleeves and dive into the work as well.       An understanding of the types of research driving client business such as audit and tracking is essential as well as an exposure to basic quail and quanti research skills.

      Job Responsibilities:

      l  Support functional requirements of BJ & SH in analysis and modeling with some standard quantitative analysis such as cluster or segmentation analysis, audience analysis, media analytics.

      l  Manage a quanti team to do the essential maintenance work such as updating databases, extraction of basic data, training of new planning group team members

      l  Support the Metrics Modelling initiative and take responsibility to liaise with metric team in SH office & regionally. Develop proposals for clients which deliver sounds Business, marketing and Communications Investment solutions.

      l  Deliver ad hoc insights service to BD and clients whether based on existing data such as CMMS or bespoke insight generation.
