LO SCIENZIATO - Radiomir 1940 Tourbillon GMT Oro Rosso - 48mm

The Radiomir 1940 Tourbillon GMT is a tribute that Officine Panerai pays to the genius of Galileo Galilei, the great Tuscan scientist who, by formulating the law of isochronism of the small oscillations of the pendulum, revolutionised the history of time measurement.
This timepiece has a remarkable aesthetic impact and impressive technical features, developed by the “Laboratorio di Idee” at the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. What stands out immediately is the sophisticated work of skeletonising the P. 2005/S movement, the hand-wound calibre with a tourbillon regulator which brings this superb timepiece to life. “Lo Scienziato” is presented for the first time in a Radiomir 1940 case made of 5NPT red gold, the diameter of which is an imposing 48 mm. To enable the sophisticated skeletonising to be admired, the watch does not have a normal dial: the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock, with its indicator dot rotating simultaneously with the tourbillon cage, and the counter at three o’clock, with the AM/PM indication, are integral with the movement. On the other hand, the linear hour markers and numbers, all coated in ecru Super-LumiNova© are directly fixed to the black flange on which the name “Lo Scienziato” is engraved. Produced in a limited edition of 30 units, the Radiomir 1940 Tourbillon GMT comes with a black alligator strap and a polished red gold folding buckle and is waterresistant to 5 bar (equivalent to a depth of 50 metres).

Luminor 1950 3 Days Titanio DLC – 47mm

The Luminor 1950 3 Days Titanio DLC – 47mm is the result of a combination of the historic elements of Officine Panerai and advanced technical solutions. The first historic element of this model is the Luminor 1950 case, inspired by the legendary story of the commandos and their missions and the date “1950” is engraved on the lever locking the winding crown. The black dial with the classic Panerai design features large bar markers and figures, the seconds counter at 9 o’clock, the OP logo and the traditional sandwich construction. The case is made of titanium – a light, strong, hypo-allergenic material – coated with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) and it is 47 mm in diameter, like the vintage models. The movement of the new Luminor 1950 is the P.3000, an in-house hand-wound calibre with a power reserve of three days. Emphasised by the brown leather strap with contrasting stitching, with the OP logo stamped upon it, the look of this Luminor 1950 is dark, sober and sporty, guaranteed also by a water resistance up to 10 bar (a depth of about 100 metres).

Table clock

The Panerai Table Clock has the perfection of a sphere: a sphere of transparent mineral glass, which encloses a dial that has become part of timekeeping history, and a Manufacture mechanical movement with a power reserve of eight days. The dial has the typical Panerai sandwich structure with the S.L.C. design, the most mysterious and minimalist of those developed in the history of Panerai, dating back to the end of the 1930s. The denomination “S.L.C.” refers to the legendary Siluri a Lenta Corsa, the human torpedoes which were ridden by the commandos during their missions equipped with Panerai instruments. The magnifying effect of the sphere also enables the engraving on the black dial to be admired, including the words “8 days” referring to the power reserve of the timepiece. The movement of the Table Clock is the Manufacture P.5000 calibre, hand-wound and with a power reserve of eight days; its inspiration is historical in that it is derived from the Angelus movements of some vintage Panerai watches. An elegant round base, made of brushed steel and personalised with the engraved words “Officine Panerai”, enables the sphere (65 mm in diameter) to rest safely on a table.

The Panerai Table Clock has the perfection of a sphere: a sphere of transparent mineral glass, which encloses a dial that has become part of timekeeping history, and a Manufacture mechanical movement with a power reserve of eight days. The glass encloses a California dial, the first of all the dials in the history of Panerai, which appeared on the first watch supplied to the Navy in 1936. The name “California” came about some time ago as a result of the particular popularity of this dial design – consisting of Arabic and Roman numerals and alternating markers – in California during the 1980s, and it is very much appreciated by collectors and enthusiasts of the brand because of its historic importance and originality. The magnifying effect of the sphere also enables the engraving on the black dial to be admired, including the words “8 days” referring to the power reserve of the timepiece.
